BARTHOLOMEO VOLTEIO.
BON. EQU. AURATO. Translation (Italian)

Symb. IX.

Stat laeto indefessa comes Constantia vultu,
Indomitum munita fero latus ense, tenetque
Aegida lemniaca sudatam incude, nec ullas
Pertinet insidias, nullis dat terga periclis,
Sed cunctis immota malis, animosaq[ue] semper
Rebus in adversis, pugnaci proelia dextra
Exercet, validaq[ue] ferox confidit in hasta.
Hac duce per varios casus, longosq[ue] labores
Aeneas olim fatis iactatus iniquis
Italiam profugus, lavinaq[ue] regna petivit.
Hac duce Gorgoneos angues Danaeius Heros,
Nec minus Alcides tot monstra ingentia fudit.
Non hic Lernaei timuit fera colla Draconis,
Non saevi Diomedis equos, non dira Leonis
Ora Molorchei, validi nec cornua Tauri.
Quin Stygij est ausus penetrare in regna Tona[n]tis,
Et trahere ad superas captivum cerberon auras.
